Silavelle runs this website, from Ottawa, Ontario. These are the rules for using it. That is all this page is. By using the site, you accept them.

It is not the contract for building your website. If you hire us, you get a separate written agreement. Ask to read it before you pay anything and we will send it.

This website is not the contract

Everything on this site is general information about what we do. It is not professional advice.

This site does not give you a price for your job. Tell us what you need and we send you a price in writing. That price does not change once you have it.

If you hire us, the work is covered by that separate written agreement. It says the price, the dates, and what happens if either of us stops the work.

Our name and our work

The Silavelle name and our logo belong to us. We also own the writing, the design and the pictures on this site. We use some of it with permission. Please do not copy any of it without asking us first.

We show client work on this site with that client's permission. We asked, and they said yes.

Please do not

Do not try to break into this site. Do not copy it in bulk with software. Do not send false or illegal things through our forms. Do not do anything that stops the site working for other people.

Links to other websites

Some links here go to other companies, like Google, or to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We put them there because they are useful. We do not control those websites, and we are not responsible for what they do.

What this page covers, and what it does not

Read this part slowly. It is easy to misread.

This website is provided as is, with no warranties of any kind. If a page here is out of date, or the site stops working, we are not liable for what that costs you. To the maximum extent the law allows, that covers indirect, incidental and consequential loss. Our total liability for this website is capped at $100 CAD.

That cap is about the website you are reading right now. It is not the cap on the work we build for you. If you hire us, your written agreement says what we owe you and what happens if we get it wrong. It is a different document, with different numbers.

Where a dispute gets settled

Ontario law applies, along with the Canadian laws that apply in Ontario. If we ever have a dispute, it goes to the Ontario courts, and only the Ontario courts.

We are in Ottawa. You would not have to go to another country to take us to court.

If we change these terms

If we change these terms, we put the new version on this page. The date at the top of this page tells you when we last changed it.
